How to perform an asset assessment

Assessments are a critical step in ensuring that your assets and processes align with regulatory requirements, industry standards, ethical principles, and business objectives. With insAIght, you can streamline the folliowing assessments:


  • AI Impact Assessment: evaluates the potential risks and benefits of AI systems, ensuring they are developed and deployed responsibly.
  • EU AI Act Quick Assessment: helps determine whether your AI system falls under the scope of the EU AI Act and identifies compliance gaps.
  • Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA): assesses how personal data is processed, identifying privacy risks and ensuring compliance with regulations like GDPR.
  • Business Impact Assessment: analyzes the operational, financial, and strategic implications of an asset, helping prioritize resources and mitigate risks.
  • Ethical Impact Assessment: ensures that AI systems and data practices adhere to ethical principles, such as fairness, transparency, and accountability.

How to Assess an Asset


  1. Click on the "Assets" tab in the left-hand menu to view all your assets.
  2. Choose the asset you want to assess. For this example, we’ll assess the asset "Pizza delivery addresses".
  3. You’ll see a list of available assessments. Click on the name of the assessment you wish to perform (e.g., EU AI Act Quick Assessment) or on "+Start" to begin.
  4. Answer all the questions in each section. You can save your progress as you go and return to it later if needed.
  5. Once you’ve answered all the questions, go to the top right corner and click on "Complete".
  6. To save your assessment, go back to the asset, select the assessment and click "Export PDF. You can choose which sections will be included in the document. Then, print or save it for record-keeping, audits, or sharing with stakeholders.
