How to assess a control's maturity level
Once you’ve uploaded evidence, you can assess the control’s current maturity level based on that evidence. Therefore, the first step is examining the evidence (documents, screenshots, or reports). Then, determine which maturity level (M1–M5) the control currently meets.
For a step-by-step walkthrough on how to record the control's maturity level on insAIght, watch the following tutorial video:
These are the steps:
- Select the Control
In the Controls Overview, choose the control you want to assess.
- Navigate to Assessments
Scroll down to the "Assessments" section.
- Start or Reassess. If this is the first assessment, click "Start" under Maturity Assessment. If you’ve assessed this control before, the button will display "Reassess".
- Complete the Assessment:
- Select the appropriate maturity level (M1–M5).
- Link or upload evidence to support your assessment.
- Add notes (e.g., strengths, gaps, or next steps).
InsAIght tracks the progression of each control over time, providing dates of all past assessments, maturity progression and evidence used. Organizations can then track whether controls are improving, stagnating, or declining.
