How to adopt a Compliance Framework

How to adopt a Compliance Framework

Compliance frameworks are structured sets of requirements that your organisation needs to address. Rather than tracking each requirement individually, the Anove InsAIght platform maps your controls to the relevant framework requirements. This provides a clear, real-time view of what is covered and where gaps remain.

Once your organisation is configured, you can begin adopting compliance frameworks. This indicates which regulatory and industry standards are relevant to your organisation and should be reflected within the platform.

To adopt a compliance Framework, follow the steps below.

  1. Navigate to the Compliance tab.
  2. Click on 'Adopt Framework'

You'll see a list of available frameworks:

  1. For our example organisation, we'll adopt ISO 9001:2015(E). Begin by typing “ISO” in the search bar and you will find this Framework. Then, click on “+Adopt” at the right-hand side:

  1. Select controls

When you adopt a framework, you need to choose which controls to apply.

You can implement the full control set at once or take a phased approach, the platform is designed to support both.

Why a phased approach?

Most organisations cannot implement all controls simultaneously. A phased approach allows you to spread implementation efforts over time, build organisational capability gradually, and focus resources on the highest-priority areas first.

The platform offers three implementation levels. The Basic level is sufficient to meet the core requirements of the standard and achieve certification. Intermediate and Advanced levels support further maturity, optimisation, and strengthening of governance practices beyond the minimum required threshold.

Level

Scope

Coverage

Basic

Fundamental controls covering essential security practices. Suitable for organisations beginning their compliance journey.

30–40% of available controls

Intermediate

Expanded control set addressing more comprehensive requirements.

60–70% of available controls

Advanced

Complete control set providing full framework coverage.

100% of available controls

Example: An organisation might begin with Basic controls for physical security (locks, access logs) and Intermediate controls for IT security, deferring Advanced controls for threat detection until organisational capacity allows.

In this example, we will select all controls related to this Framework by clicking on "Quick Select" and then "Select all"

  1. Then, click on the "Adopt and Import Controls" button on the bottom right:

🎉 You have now successfully adopted a Framework!
