# Adding Controls

Adding controls is a very important part of cybersecurity. Here's how to add new controls and plan for desired control maturity.

## Adding Controls Manually

Here's how to add a new control:

1. Go to '**Tactical**' -> '**Control Management**' and click on '**Add'**

2. Fill in Control Reference, Name, Description and Control Owner
*(Note: Control Reference could be a specific control in the standard you use, such as ISO27002.12.2.1)*

3. If you wish to add further details, click on '**Advanced Settings**'

4.   Add Periodicity, Desired Maturity, Business Unit and Department

5. Click on '**Add**'

You have now successfully added a control manually! ✅

## Adding Controls using AnoveAI

The AnoveAI Assistant can be of great assistance in creating a control. Here's how to use the AnoveAI assistant.

1. Go to '**Tactical**' -> '**Control Management**' and click on '**Add**'

3. Fill in the details

4. Press the send button at the bottom

You have now successfully added a control using AnoveAI! ✅

Back at the '**Control Management**' page, you can see a graph of the Common Control Framework, all your controls, and your average control maturity.
